HIRING!
Manager of Community and Legislative
Manager of Community and Legislative Affairs
Do you have a passion for your community and a drive to make lasting, meaningful change? Do you thrive on
turning grassroots advocacy into real-world results? Are you as comfortable building relationships at the
community center as you are influencing decisions in the boardroom? If you’re seeking a position at the
intersection of public policy, community and workforce development, and relationship building, we want to
discuss how your passion can be realized with us.
At Central Alabama Electric Cooperative (CAEC), we’re not just about keeping the lights on — we’re powering communities, expanding broadband access, driving workforce growth, and championing the future of rural Alabama. As our Manager of Community and Legislative Affairs, you’ll be the go-to leader forging strong
relationships with government and community partners while driving impactful changes across the region.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a strategic, service-driven leader with:
•A Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Business, Economic Development, or related field (Master’s preferred)
•3–5 years of experience in legislative affairs, public policy, or community/workforce/economic development (preferred)
•Experience in the electric and/or fiber utility industry (preferred)
What You’ll Do:
We’re looking for someone who can turn influence into action — someone who listens, connects people and ideas, and leads with purpose. You will have the
opportunity to:
•Engage in discussions with community leaders, elected officials, and legislative liaisons
•Champion governmental and workforce initiatives that help our communities grow and succeed
•Connect internal CAEC teams with external partners to solve local community needs and promote CAEC as a trusted ally
•Advocate for policies and programs that drive workforce readiness, stimulate local economic growth, and diversify our energy load and broadband reach
Why Join Us?
At CAEC we believe in the power of local voices and big visions. We’re grounded in service, fueled by innovation, and inspired by the people we serve. This is your chance to help shape the future of rural Alabama — one
relationship, one policy, and one community at a time.
Take your place at the table where passion meets
purpose and community meets policy.
